Consequently, I hope that future updates will focus on adding more songs/artists to the Rock/Metal genres so that everyone can be satisfied enough to stayed subscribed in order for the company to earn the subscription revenue they need now to continue to make the investments needed for Rocksmith to be successful.Įither way, I have gotten the impression that the company could improve their marketing strategy and presence by providing more announcements about plans for the work that they plan on rolling out in future updates on an ongoing basis. I would be completely fine with this, but it feels like the company forgot that the name of their product is still Rocksmith and that the large majority of their customers are coming from Rocksmith 2014 where everyone was enjoying playing rock/metal music.

I understand that Rocksmith+ may want to broaden their target audience to guitar players overall across all genres rather than just focusing on rock and metal music. With that said, I think the fact that Rocksmith+ didn't release with more rock and metal songs/artists from the start is largely due to a common marketing issue: knowing your target audience. Although there are plenty of rock and metal artists/songs that are still missing from the library that everyone was demanding and hoping for, I still think the development team deserves a lot of credit for the amount of work they have done overall for Rocksmith+ and I'd like to think that the team will bring in plenty more rock/metal songs and artists in future updates going forward on a monthly basis. I know a lot of Rocksmith fans may disagree with this, but I don't think the #1 issue with Rocksmith+ is the song library.
